Frequently Asked
Questions About Window Tinting
Why should I tint my automobile (home/office) windows?
Window tinting provides several benefits. The biggest benefit of window tinting
is the increased interior comfort it provides. Window film acts as a thermal
barrier to heat as well as reducing glare from the sun. It also enhances the
appearance of an automobile as well as providing an extra measure of safety
(such as helping to hold a shattered window together in the event of an
accident).
How long will window film last on my automobile windows?
A quality brand/grade of window film (such as Llumar) should easily last 5-7
years. It's not unheard of for window film to last 10 or more years if your
car/truck is often parked under a shelter or in a garage.
What can I expect to pay to have my automobile windows tinted?
A good, quality job on a typical car usually runs between $130 - $190 (more or
less). For a typical pick-up truck it usually runs between $85 - $150 (more or
less). This is assuming that a quality window film is used and applied in a
professional manner. *Beware! If someone is willing to tint your automobile
windows for anything considerably less than these prices, you can be sure that
they will not be using a quality window film! And yes there are some cheap
window films out there, and you can be assured that their life expectancy will
not be long - a cheap film will usually deteriorate noticeably within a year or
two.
