2008

I did some more "cemetery stomping" this weekend (Friday, July 4). I rode over to Ashburn GA to look for the grave of one of my great-great grandfathers - Daniel Peacock Patterson. I was able to go pretty much straight to it (I had found a reference to it's location in a cemetery listing book in the local Fitzgerald library a while back). I've still got to go back over there to research for some info about my mother's mother's mother's family - the Baileys...

I got to see a new Dodge Challenger today (Friday, Jun 27) - I was relieved to find that the car looks even better than what the pictures so far have shown. That is one sweet ride!...

Been working on a website for my boss-man. It's a work-in-progress; if you get bored check it out at www.HardinsGlass.com...

Enjoyed a nice visit with my Uncle SA and Aunt Jearldean (Sat, Apr 5). Got to see my cousins Denny (and his family) and Sol (and his son) which was really nice (it's not often these days I get to spend time with family)...

Got my Buddy Holly cd today (Wed, Mar 12); I did buy one through eBay after all. It's great! I especially like the last stuff (right before his death) where he used orchestral music; what music this guy could/would have made if his life wasn't cut terribly short...

Once again I'll be employed (as in steady salary). I'm giving up my business and going to work for a local shop in Fitzgerald - Hardin's Glass & Accessories. My tint shop has actually been doing a decent business lately, but I've grown to appreciate the comfort of a steady paycheck over the years (something that's not guaranteed with self-employment). Hopefully it'll work out...

Sold my old Satellite project today (Saturday, Feb 22). I thought I'd really feel bad seeing it go; turns out - not so much. Hopefully the new owner will have better luck making progress fixing it...

Just when you think things are going well... I had to replace the back window in a car this week (Jan 22). For some reason (I truly don't know why or how) after I tinted a Cadillac CTS last week, a couple of hours later the back glass decided to shatter. This is a first for me in my 25+ years of window tinting experience; I sincerely hope it's a fluke (another one or two of these and I'd have to shut my doors!)...

2007

Enjoyed a nice dinner/visit (Wed, Dec 26) with my Cousin Sol, his wife Dani, their kids and my Uncle SA and Aunt Jeri (Sol's parents)...

Been playing around with a website for my window tinting business. I'm still considering trying my hand a designing websites part-time as a side-line (I really need some extra cash). I've actually been considering taking a night class at the local tech school to further my education in this area...

Well, I sold my '74 Challenger project today (Saturday, Nov 17). I'll miss it (those things are awfully hard to find in decent shape - without paying a fortune) but right now the cash will be a lot handier than the ol' car sitting in the yard (it's not like I'd actually made any progress toward restoring it anyway). Oh yeah, and if anyone would like to have an old classic car "project", I'm probably gonna offer my old '69 Plymouth Satellite for sale soon...

Got my laptop back today (Thur, Oct 25)! Would you believe I just sent it in Tuesday - of this week! No complaints on HP's service from me...

My laptop (or one like it)...Looks like I'm gonna have to send my trusty HP laptop in for service. Last week the wireless section/Ethernet/whatever just went away. By went away I mean the switch has no effect, no icon in the taskbar, heck, it's not even listed under the "device manager"; it's like it and anything related to it just up and disappeared. Tried several suggestions from the tech support at HP, the last thing being a complete re-format - no luck. Oh well, hopefully it won't take too long...

Got another "found this strange" item. While playing around with my family tree software program (I use Family TreeMaker), I noticed on my "kinship report" (a report that lists my relationship to people in my tree) that it lists me as my own cousin! Actually, it appears that I'm my own "half 4th cousin twice-removed". As it turns out, way back there somewhere my Mom and my Dad's family lines cross, so I can trace relationships for a lot of my relatives through both my Mom and Dad's families. This just blew my mind...

Found this strange. After I woke up the other morning (Friday, Oct 5), I was laying on the edge of the bed reading (book on the floor), when from around the night table comes a scorpion! Granted, it wasn't very big at all, but it freaked me out just the same; I'd never seen one before and didn't even realize that they were found in our part of the country. I didn't study it too long before I flattened it. After doing a quick internet search, I discovered that there's not much to worry about from any scorpion found in our part of the country (other than maybe a sore sting if you get bitten). Only thing that bothers me is that since it was so small, now I'm wondering if it was a part of a batch of 'em waiting to come out at night while I'm asleep!...

Okay, so looks like my old car project didn't sell on eBay (didn't make reserve - Sat, Aug 25). Oh well, I didn't want to sell it anyway; guess I might have to keep it and maybe work on it some day...

Listed another one of my old car projects for sale on eBay (Sat, Aug 18). I hate to sell it, but right now the money would be nicer to have than the old car sitting in the yard. If you get bored, it's item number 180150634452 on eBay (just do a search for this number, it'll take you to it)...

Bought a new cd today (Thur, Jul 26) - the new Maroon 5. This is the first new one I've bought since Michael Buble a good while back. I'm enjoying this - it's got a funky sound...

Well, starting tomorrow (Mon, Jul 2) I'll once again be self-employed (though I guess I've actually been self-employed since becoming an "independent contractor" at work). This time I'm back in business on my own - again. I've made a deal with my boss-man to rent the bay that I've worked in for the past 5-6 years to own/operate my own window tinting business. It's kinda scary (considering today's economy), but I'm more excited than scared. I'll see how it goes. In the meantime, if anyone needs any automobile window tinting I'd really appreciate the business. Hey, that's pretty much all I've done since getting out of college (I've actually been tinting windows since high school), so I'm pretty decent at it by now...

I've seen small graveyards in fields - this is a lone grave...Made my semi-weekly pilgrimage to Pearson today (Wed, Jun 27). While over there I visited this gravesite of (what appears to be) a G-G-G-Great Uncle, James Summerlin...

I received a book that I had ordered today (Thur, Jun 21), "Jacob Summerlin - King of the Crackers". It's a mini-biography of Jacob Summerlin, who was an early Florida pioneer. He eventually became a big-time cattle baron of sorts. He also made a great impact on early Florida history. I'm trying to figure out how/if he may be related to my family line. I also got a new computer game, Civilization IV; this one is gonna take a while to figure out, though it should be lots of fun - basically, you control human civilization and it's growth - or downfall...

Me - lately...Alright, I think it's official now - I'm a computer nerd. I've just discovered games for the computer (pc games). I bought an "adventure" game called "Return to Mysterious Island"; it's pretty cool. You make decisions for a character who's stranded on a deserted (or maybe not) island. I'm amazed with the graphics on these games - they're amazing. I'm sure I'll be buying a few more, but this one's gonna keep me occupied for a while I think...

The guy I'm named after - Clinton Berrien Patterson, my mother's grandfather...I went over to Willacoochee today (Wed, Jun 13). I visited my old college buddy Bob (Brown) who I hadn't seen in a good while. We talked a good bit about family history - we share some between the Gillis and Vickers' families. Once I put all the info into my Family TreeMaker software program, it says that Bob and I are "3rd cousins". I also went by the City Cemetery again to photograph some more Newbern/Patterson gravesites...

Headstone/Marker of John L Guthrie - my G-G-G-Great Grandfather...I visited another old cemetery today (Wed, Jun 6). I went by the "Old Guthrie Family Cemetery" over in Berrien County (just outside Atkinson); this one's out in the boonies. My father's mother's father was a Guthrie, so I'm pretty closely related to the family...

Okay, I think I've got a photo album for my car club's show posted (Tue, May 29)...

Just got back from a long weekend at the racetrack (South Georgia Motorsports Park - Thur-Sun, May 24-27); remember, this weekend was my car club's race/show. It turned out pretty good, though it was a good bit smaller than we thought it'd be. It was still fun. I'll try to post some pictures soon...

I visited with my Uncle SA and Aunt Jerry again this week (Wed, May 23). I think my Uncle SA may be getting the "family history bug" now, too...

I recently got a library card while in the library in Douglas (GA). Turns out it's good for the one in Fitzgerald also. Looks like there's some decent genealogical resources there, so I'm bound to be using them...

Hey, if anyone's looking for something to do come Memorial Day weekend (May 25-27) and you like old cars and racing, come on over to the South Georgia Motorsports Park in Cecil (Valdosta) GA; my car club will be helping to host a weekend-long show and race - the All-Mopar Southern Nationals. It was a big show last year, and it looks like this year's show will be even bigger!...

The "Newbern Genealogical Team" (Me, Cousins Dereck, Joel and Martin)...I visited my cousin Dereck earlier this week (Sat-Wed, Apr 21-25); my cousin Dereck is probably the closest thing I have to a brother (especially when we were young). I visited with him in Jacksonville, Florida (for me, a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there - I'm definitely a small-town person). I enjoyed the visit a lot. While visiting, we both met some more cousins ("Hey Joel and Martin") from my mother's side of the family (the Newberns). We also tried to do some digging into family history, which is proving to be a challenge. It was still fun...

Did some more cemetery searching (Wed, Apr 18) around Coffee and Atkinson County. I stopped by the Vickers Rural Cemetery (Douglas) to look for Vickers ancestors (not really sure if I found any or not); also stopped by the Willacoochee City Cemetery to get pictures of my Mom's family gravesites (I think I missed a few, so I'll probably go back soon)...

Well, just got my tax returns all ready to go (Sun, Apr 15 - "Thanks, Ms B"). With my new employment status as an "independent contractor" along with my neglecting to send in quarterly "estimated" returns, this year is gonna hurt. Oh well, I should be okay; just have to dip into the ol' savings a little bit. I do need to make some changes for this year, though...

Well, sold one of my old car projects this week (Sat, Mar 31). I hated to let it go, but it was becoming apparent that I wasn't making any progress on it (and I can use the money to help pay my income taxes for the past year, which I've neglected to account for). Hopefully the new owner can make some headway toward putting it back on the road...

Made another trip over to Homerville to the Huxford Library yesterday (Wed, Mar 28). Didn't find out what I was looking for, though I did find out some more family history info...

Went on the road this week (Wed, Mar 14) in search of some family history info. I went to the Irwin Co (Ocilla) Courthouse to take a look at my Great-Grandmother's marriage license, which I discovered was on file there. I thought there might be a chance that her parents might be listed on the certificate/application (that's what I needed to find out), but as it turned out there was no such luck. I continued on to the Turner Co (Ashburn, where I think she was born) Courthouse hoping to find a birth certificate, but this trip turned out to be a bust also; Turner Co only has birth records from around 1920 or so. Hopefully some of the local "genealogical" libraries might have some info...

Re-formatted the ol' laptop recently (Tue, Wed, Feb 20, 21) after it started acting funny. Mainly I was worried about my Norton Internet Security program - it stopped working suddenly. I'm pretty sure it had something to do with my recent attempt to "network" my laptop with my home desktop pc (those networking settings were tough to un-do - for me at least). It seems to be back to normal now...

I visited my Uncle SA and Aunt Jearldean this past Wednesday (Feb 14). They helped to add some info to the ol' family tree, along with some old family pictures. It was really nice to visit with them (something I really need to do more often)...

Check it out - m&m Clint!...Okay, got bored just sitting around and went to check out "BecomeAnMM.com"; made myself an m&m character - it was pretty fun...

Got my new laptop in this week (Thur, Jan 25); been tryin' to get it "set-up" like I want it. Doin' away with a lot of that useless crap you always get loaded on a new pc; trying to put all the programs on it that I'll use; and been copying all (well, not quite all, but most) of "My Documents" onto it. I think I've finally got it about ready to go. Oh, and "Do I like it?..."

I've had the urge to get a laptop computer for a while now (I think one would really help with the family research; I could carry all my info with me wherever I go). Today (Mon, Jan 15) I bit the bullet and ordered one from HP. I've been watching both new and used ones on eBay (and other sites) for a while, and it seems even a 2 or 3 year-old one goes for 3/4 the price of a new one - and so I just ordered a new one (which I really didn't need to do financially, but "what the he'..."). I also got a deal on a scanner (also a HP) from eBay. Maybe now I can get some copies of old family photographs to go along with the family tree...

Grave of Rev George Washington Newbern...Grave of Rebecca (Thomas) Newbern...Decided to check out the Huxford Genealogy Library in Homerville recently (Wed, Jan 10); went ahead and paid for a year's membership since I'm sure I'll be back over there many more times. Also visited the gravesite (and took pictures) of my G-Great Grandfather and Grandmother from my mother's side of the family (Rev George Washington and Rebecca Newbern). Anyone into family research who hasn't yet looked into the Huxford Library really should give it a visit...

Cancelled my GoDaddy reseller account today (Wed, Jan 3 2007). After owning it for nearly a year and not having a single dollar made I decided the $100 or so would be better spent somewhere else; I still think it's a good way to make some extra cash, though it'd take some promotion...

2006

Hope everyone has a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a Happy New Year!...

Haven't been doing much lately (Sunday, Dec 5). Watched a couple of programs on PBS recently - one was the Roy Orbison in Black & White program (I love Roy Orbison's music. He seems to have been one of the few male artists who wasn't afraid to put what he was feeling into music). This program has been shown several times; if you ever get a chance to watch it, please do. The other show I watched was one of the Doo-Wop specials that had also been shown before. I really like the old doo-wop...

The headstone of Hardy Summerlin - I'm starting to doubt this is my G-G-G-Great-Grandfather (though it is a relative)...Went to Pearson yesterday (Wed, Oct 25). On a tip I stopped by the Antioch Church Cemetery to look for buried Summerlin ancestors. Imagine my surprise when I found the graves of 4 (well, 3 probably) of my Great-Grandfathers! Seems like I remember hearing that a good many were buried there, but it was still a pretty good surprise anyway...

Looks like I finally sold my old Dodge pick-up. I say "looks like" because I'm still owed a little bit on it. I hope the new owner enjoys it as much as I did. I really would've liked to have kept it, but I needed to sell it so I could make some progress toward paying for the new (to me) Dakota...

Got bored (Thursday, Oct 29) and decided to try setting up those new computer hard drives I'd bought a while back. I finally did get them installed okay (with my latest new motherboard); I never was able to get my Windows operating system swapped over to the new (faster) drive. It looks like I've finally managed to get it all done - operating system is on the new drive along with all of my old stuff. I can definitely tell it's faster now...

Haven't been doing much lately (Sunday, October 15). Been reading a lot and watching movies. Looks like it might be a long, cold winter; if so, then I'll probably read a lot more books and watch a good many movies (and have to buy bigger clothes next Spring)...

Created a "Family Home Page" on the Genealogy.com website (it was free with the Family Tree Maker software)...

Hey Folks. Sorry I haven't added anything to the site in a while. I've been busy trying to get the trusty computer going again for one thing (looks like it's finally operational again - thanks for the help, Big Dave!). I've also become consumed with tracing my family genealogy (for some reason I've become really interested in my family history lately). I bought the Family Tree Maker program (good deal off eBay); the version I got included a free 1-yr subscription to the Ancestry.com website (really good for tracing the family roots). I've got to say, this has become nearly an addiction for me - it is fascinating. As soon as I can I'll try to post a "Family Tree" page on the 'site (or maybe a link to my page on Ancestry.com/WorldTree)...

Okay, did away with the "Guest Book" one more time - probably for good this time (Tuesday, Nov 7)...

Decided to go back to the standard website "theme" (Tuesday, Oct 17); also added a page for "funny stuff" for stuff that I come across that I (and not necessarily anyone else) find funny...

Okay, somehow I really made a mess of the ol' website (Friday night, Sept 29) - let's me see if I can figure it out...

I got bored during the Labor Day weekend with no computer to play with, so I re-arranged my bedroom furniture a little (I've been wanting to switch it around for some time now); it's funny how some re-arranging/cleaning can make things seem fresh. If I get really bored I'll re-arrange my 2nd bedroom and then the living room (I've got this idea I want to try in the living room - fill my tv-side wall with adjustable shelves from top-to-bottom/side-to-side so I can put all of my books, cd's, videos and knick-knacks on that wall and free up some room in the house) for a really "open" feel...

Looks like my luck is holding strong. After a recent thunderstorm (last weekend, or the one before) my computer ceased to work; looks like lightning got to it (through the phone line) - again. And just like the last time it appears to have wiped out the modem and motherboard, and maybe a video card. Rather than shell out another $250 for a "professional" repair, I'm gonna try to do it myself. Bought a new motherboard/cpu combo from TigerDirect, along with a modem. I'm just now getting it going again - so far, so good. I'm taking this opportunity to once again try to install those 2 serial hard drives that I bought a while back. I've actually managed to get them installed, initialized and formatted this time; I'm still not able to use one of the new drives as a "boot" drive, though I'm still working on it...

Aunt Willene & Uncle Charles...Attended my Aunt Willene & Uncle Charles' 50th wedding anniversary this weekend (Saturday, August 12th). It was really nice; plenty of family and several of their friends were there. If ever two people were "made for each other", it was these two...

My new Acura CL...Well, made the trip to pick up my new (well, new to me) car this weekend (Saturday, July 29). It was a pretty smooth trip; my buddy Boone went with me. The car looks really good. It's a '97 Acura CL that looks like it's been well-cared for. It's quite a change from my ol' Dodge pick-up (which is now up for sale if anyone needs a decent pick-up); it rides really well, the a/c works, and the gas mileage appears to be (so far) really good. As an added note, probably less than 2 hrs after I used the "Buy It Now" eBay option on the CL, the local Ford dealership calls asking if I'd like to test-drive a recently-traded 2001 Dodge Dakota (I'd been looking at both the CLs and the Dakotas, though I only intended to buy one of them) - just my luck. It would've been nice if the truck would have come along a little sooner. Anyway, long-story-short, I drove the truck for a few days and decided that I'd really like to have it too (after hearing the price, I think it was a really good deal); and so I now have two new (to me) vehicles. Now the fun begins - paying for them. My plan is to put the Dakota up for possible re-sale (hopefully for a profit); I'll see how that goes...

Don't know how this will work out, but I recently (Friday, July 21) purchased a car off eBay; I've still got to go get it (it's located a little above Atlanta - anyone up for a trip?); hopefully it'll be as nice as it looked in the pics...

I've been trying to "upgrade" my computer lately (June 29-July 1) with more/faster hard-drives (guess I'm bored). I've been trying to use the fairly new "serial" drive technology that my motherboard is supposed to support, but I'm finding out it's not very "friendly" with this technology; so far I've spent the past 3 nights up 'til 2-3 in the morning trying to get it to work - no luck. I think I've visited every website/forum there is for my predicament. Right now I think I'm just gonna give up on the SATA drives - I might just add a couple of faster "parallel" drives (though I've already got $100 in 2 drives already, and 2 more will be about the same). If I don't add any updates to the site for a while it's probably because I've "let the smoke out" of it...

Funny how life seems to be going along great sometimes when out of nowhere comes a "sucker-punch"; my mother passed away this week (very early Thursday morning, June 1). Even though I knew she probably wouldn't live to be really old, I never expected it would come so soon. I can feel somewhat comforted in knowing that at least she won't have to endure the pain and suffering that she would have if she would have lived for much longer (she had an illness that wouldn't have been pleasant as it progressed)...

Well, my car club's show is now over - it turned out really good! I'm trying to put some pictures of the weekend on the club website, though it might take a while...

Been on a clothes-buying spree lately. And since I can't seem to find much of anything I like in the stores these days (it all looks like "gangsta" apparel to me) I've resorted to eBay. Found some nice Duck Head shorts, which I've gotten quite used to wearing over the years. Found some new, some used (I don't care, they mostly just get used for work anyway)...

My car club's car show/race - the Mopar Southern Nationals - is coming up soon - it'll be held May 26-28 (Memorial Day weekend) at the South Georgia Motorsports Park in Cecil (Valdosta) GA. If you need something to do that weekend and like to look at old cars and racing then come on out!...

Went to a car show this weekend (Saturday, May 6th) - the Landmark Southern Mopar Classic at Morrow GA. It was a nice show; the weather was perfect and there were plenty of cars/trucks to see. For anyone interested, I've added some pictures from the show on the club 'site...

Stopped by Staples (in Tifton) the other day (Tue, Apr 11). I love to just look around in those things; I think I could spend a whole day just browsing. I ended up buying two small software programs:  one is a "home design" type thing that you can design and then look at (in 2D or 3D views) what you come up with (it was only $9.95, but it's pretty cool) and the other is a "logo making" thing ($9.95 too). I've been playing around with them ever since. That "architect" program is fascinating...

Finally! I was finally able to get (well, make actually) a copy of an old album/cassette/cd that I've been trying to find for quite some time - Looking at You, Looking at Me by Narada Michael Walden; and let me tell you, this is one nearly impossible album to find - at least on cd. After doing an extensive (and I do mean extensive) internet search I finally discovered that this album/cd (which was produced in 1983) is no longer being made in the US - though it is still being produced in China (?!). A couple of weeks ago two of these things showed up on eBay and I thought that I'd finally had it at last - WRONG! I watched one go for around $50 (and this is a used cd, mind you) and I decided to bid on the other one (it was in China, also used). Long-story-short, I didn't win the auction - I bid around $42 (which I thought was plenty for a used cd) and thought I'd won it until the auction was over and I found out that I'd been out-bid. It sold for $48. After that I decided to just buy an album and make my own cd; I found a brand-new, still-wrapped album for $10 and "bought it now" (around $13 with shipping). Also ended up buying some new hardware/software for the ol' trusty computer that allowed me to convert the old album to a digital format - it ended up sounding pretty good (I'll try to post a some clips from it soon)...

I don't know how this might work out, but here lately I've been entertaining the idea of possibly creating/maintaining websites as a side-line. I know I'll have to get a whole lot better to really do anyone any real good, but it seems I'm stuck on learning about all that stuff. In preparation for this, I recently signed up for a GoDaddy/WildWestDomains "re-seller account"; basically it's an account that let's you re-sell anything/everything that GoDaddy offers on their site. If you (or anyone you know) might be thinking about an internet domain name, hosting space for your site, or even doing your own personal or business (you can actually build your own!) webpage/site, give my "store" a look-see - I added a link on my "links" page, or you can go to www.x-site-ment.com...

Looks like there's gonna be a change in my employment status. Starting Monday (Jan 16) I'll be considered an "independent contractor", which I gather basically means that I'll be self-employed; I'll still be working at Segraves Sound in Fitzgerald, but from now on instead of receiving a weekly salary I'll be paid according to the amount of work that I actually do. This is gonna be different; I hope that it works out. I'm betting that I can continue to earn at least as much as previously (sometimes maybe more) by continuing to tint car/truck windows - we'll see how it goes...

I attended my Great-Aunt (I think that's right) Lillian's funeral today (Thursday, Jan 12); she reached the age of 99. I really should have checked in on her while she was living (I regret not doing that). Though I didn't really know her, I can remember visiting her with my Dad when he was alive; from what I can remember, she was a really nice person - I always enjoyed the few visits I made...

Website Changes

2008

Been playing around with the ol' website (Wed, July 9). I'm about ready to do a total make-over on this thing; in order to save time, I'm considering just purchasing a pre-designed/built website "template" which would give a really professional look. The trick is finding one you like. Then again, I may give a complete re-design a try myself; I've about figured out how to do the majority of the design elements with FrontPage, but I'm just not an extremely creative person by nature - I tend to think in simple terms...

< Top of Page >

2007

Replaced my family tree with a newer version...

Replaced my home page. I'm trying something that always seems to freak FrontPage (my website program) out; I'll see how it works...

Removed the e-mail addresses for some of my friends; apparently, even if not an "active link", spammers can now harvest any e-mail address that's in text...

Added a little bit to "My Bio" (Mon, Aug 6)...

Removed my "Where I Work" page and replaced it with "My Business" page to reflect my new employment change (Sun, Jul 1)...

Removed a couple of pages from the 'site (Mon, May 14); took out the "Old Car Projects" that I no longer own...

Added another "My Interests" page (Thursday, May 10) - for Ancient Civilizations; I'm fascinated with that stuff...

Added a page for my family history research; it's under the "My Interests" link...

Updated my family trees (Sun, Feb 11)...

Changed some of the music background around; added a new pic of the eMachine...

After owning a GoDaddy.com re-seller account for about a year now (Wed, Jan 3 2007) and not having any luck with it all, I cancelled my account and removed the link...

< Top of Page >

2006

Took the family album off (Friday, Sept 29) - I'll do it again when once I round up better photos...

Took those little media player things off of a couple of pages (Sat, Sept 16) - back to the music background just playing without being prompted...

Okay, I'm gonna try that "Guest Book" page one more time (Friday, Aug 25) --- hmm, it kind of works ('cept for the black text)...

Started a family photo gallery on the "My Family" page...

Added a picture of my Dad today (Wed, July 5th)...

Added a picture of my Mom (one of the very few pictures I have of her) today (Wed, June 14th)...

Did away with the "Guest Book" - might decide to try it again later...

Decided to add an "archive" for stuff I've listed on "My News" page that's not fairly new (so far I've just deleted that stuff); not that any of it's particularly interesting, I just hate to "throw it away"...

I'm trying to make the full-length music on my web pages play with a stand-alone player instead of as background sound; that way folks (like me) with a really slow connection can just stop/pause the music; it might take me a while to figure it out, so bear with me...

There should be another video clip from work now...

I've tried to post a short video clip from work on my "Where I Work" page (not sure if it works yet)...

I've recently added a "capture" card to my trusty eMachine, along with some software for capturing video/audio (mainly from old VHS tapes and stuff). I came across an old video of my high school graduation ceremony while going through some stuff recently; I'm gonna try to put it on a dvd and record it in "streaming video" format so I can post it on the 'site. We'll see how it goes...

This guestbook problem is getting on my nerves...

I've just now (Thursday, Mar 23) discovered the "Windows Movie Maker" on my computer - that thing is cool! Hopefully I can add some audio/video to the site soon...

Hmm, just noticed that my new "guestbook" has stopped working - strange; I'll try to figure it out...
