  • The Partner (John Grisham) - re-read...
  • Playing for Pizza (John Grisham) - another really good basic story by John Grisham...
  • Jedi Twilight (Michael Reaves) - looks like there's another series in the Star Wars universe...
  • Somewhere In Time (Richard Matheson) - I've gotta admit that I was a little apprehensive about reading this - I really loved the movie, and I wasn't sure I'd be able to even chance reading the book and discovering it was very different from the movie. As it turned out, I was overjoyed - the movie apparently followed the book closely. There are some differences, but (in my opinion) the differences in the movie only made the story better...
  • Endgame Enigma (James P Hogan) - another old re-read...
  • Orion Among the Stars (Ben Bova) -
  • Orion and the Conqueror (Ben Bova) -
  • Orion In the Dying Time (Ben Bova) - another re-read
  • The Wheel of Darkness (Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child) -
  • Vengeance of Orion (Ben Bova) - another re-read - this whole series was/is really good. I've read most of them a couple of times now...
  • Orion (Ben Bova) - yep, another re-read
  • Something's Alive on the Titanic (Robert Serling) - another re-read (from a long time ago) from the pile...
  • The Trinity Vector (Steve Perry) - an older re-read...
  • The Brethren (John Grisham) - a re-read...
  • Sacrifice (Karen Traviss) - was waiting on this one. For some reason it wasn't available in paperback until now; the later books in the series (Star Wars Legacy of the Force) have been available for a while...
  • Empire (Orson Scott Card) - re-read...
  • Through Darkest America (Neal Barrett, Jr) - I'd read this a good many years ago; I dusted it off and read it again. It was good (though a little disturbing). I just now discovered that there was a sequel; I'll probably try to find a copy (Amazon or eBay should have one)...
  • Christ the Lord, Out of Egypt (Anne Rice) - read this again...
  • Revelation (Karen Traviss) - another "Legacy of the Force" book in the Star Wars series...
  • The Partner (John Grisham) - Although I enjoy all of John Grisham's stories, this one was to be extra-good; the story is gradually revealed throughout the book...
  • The Brethren (John Grisham) - awfully good, as always for John Grisham...
  • Eternity (Greg Bear) - the sequel to Eon (another re-read)...
  • Eon (Greg Bear) - another sci-fi re-read...
  • Maximum Ride - Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports (James Patterson) - another story in the "Maximum Ride" series. There's a good storyline with these books, though the reading is a little annoying...
  • The Summons (John Grisham) - another re-read...
  • The King of Torts (John Grisham) - re-read...
  • Colony (Ben Bova) - I've read this a couple of times over the years, though it's been a while now...
  • Empire (Orson Scott Card) - I thought this was awfully good (I like Orson Scott Card's writing); it's probably quite plausible too...
  • Conquistador (S M Stirling) - This was a Christmas gift from my cousin Sol. I really enjoyed it; I think I'll try to read some more of this guy's stuff...
  • The Approaching Storm (Alan Dean Foster) - and another...
  • Digital Fortress (Dan Brown) - another re-read...
  • State of Fear (Michael Crichton) - re-read...
  • Fury (Aaron Allston) - a new book in the Star Wars universe...
  • Tyrant's Test (Michael P Kube-McDowell) - another Star Wars re-read...
  • The Innocent Man (John Grisham) - this was really good! A good account of a true story; pretty sad at the end...
  • Next (Michael Crichton) - this was good, makes you wonder. Seems like Michael Crichton must have an "inside track" on a lot of current technological-type stuff...
  • Before the Storm (Michael P Kube-McDowell) - another one...
  • The Crystal Star - another Star Wars re-read...
  • Children of the Jedi - yep, another re-read...
  • Specter of the Past (Timothy Zahn) - another re-read...
  • Splinter of the Mind's Eye (Alan Dean Foster) - another re-read...
  • I, Jedi - yet another re-read from "the pile"...
  • Howard Hughes, His Weird and Wanton Ways - found this in my utility shed (?); it appears to have been written shortly after Howard Hughes' death...
  • Pinhook, Finding Wholeness in a Fragmented Land (Janisse Ray) - I picked this up while washing clothes at the Laundromat; sort of a plea to help conserve the Pinhook Swamp that lies just below the Okefenokee. It was interesting...
  • Inferno (Troy Denning) - another Star Wars novel. Really good. The continuing Star Wars saga is proving to be interesting; imagine Han and Leia's son (Luke's nephew) being seduced by the "dark side" and becoming a Sith and then trying to recruit Luke's son Ben as his apprentice! Interesting...
  • Howard Hughes - the Untold Story (Peter Harry Brown and Pat H Broeske) - This seemed to be a really good account of Howard Hughes' life, which I find fascinating. It was both inspiring and sad in the final years...
  • The Broker (John Grisham) - yep, another re-read...
  • Caribbean (James A Michener) - another one from "the pile". This was really good; it's like a history lesson but told as a series a stories...
  • Darth Bane - Path of Destruction (Drew Karpyshyn) - another book in the Star Wars series/universe - really good!
  • The Codex (Douglas Preston) - a re-read from the collection...
  • Jacob Summerlin, King of the Crackers - I picked this up from Amazon.com. It's a mini-biography of Jacob Summerlin, who was a early Florida pioneer. He eventually became a big-time cattle baron of sorts. He also made a great impact on early Florida history. I'm trying to figure out how/if he may be related to my family line. After reading it I still don't know if our families are related, but it was very interesting reading anyway...
  • Betrayal (Aaron Allston) - the second in a new Star Wars series. I'm not fond of this author's writing, but I hate to not finish the series...
  • The Scarlett Letter (Nathanial Hawthorne) - yeah, the one most all of us probably read in high school English/Literature class. Don't ask me why I decided to pull this out and read it. I guess there wasn't anything new out, and I actually did enjoy it. Hard to believe, but this was actually first published in 1850! It's over 150 years old now!...
  • Maximum Ride - School's Out-Forever (James Patterson) - the 2nd in a 3-pt series (I believe); although I get the idea these are aimed at readers much younger than me, I've enjoyed them so far. Interesting note - this book mentioned General Coffee State Park in Douglas GA as a location...
  • Scarlett (Alexandra Ripley) - this is the only book I've ever bought in hardback - I couldn't wait to read it (it was released sometime in the late '80's/early '90's). I've just now read it again and DAMN! I'd forgotten just how good it was...
  • Exile (Aaron Allston) - a new novel in the Star Wars series. I don't say this often about any book that I read, but this one wasn't very good; the story was fine, but the writing itself wasn't very good...
  • This Day All Gods Die (Stephen R Donaldson) - This was some story!...
  • Chaos and Order (Stephen R Donaldson) - re-read - this is a 5-book series, by the way...
  • A Dark and Hungry God Arises (Stephen R Donaldson) - re-read...
  • Forbidden Knowledge (Stephen R Donaldson) - re-read...
  • The Real Story (Stephen R Donaldson) - re-read...
  • The Mummy or Ramses the Damned (Anne Rice) - yep, another re-read. I really enjoyed this the first time I read it; I've been waiting on the sequel, but according to Anne Rice there's probably not gonna be one...
  • Timeline (Michael Crichton) - yet another re-read; the book is much better than the movie turned out to be...
  • Prey (Michael Crichton) - another re-read...
  • The Testament (John Grisham) - excellent! This might be John Grisham's best novel; very much like his usual writing, but with much more depth of characters and quite a bit of adventure-telling...
  • Christ the Lord - Out of Egypt (Anne Rice) - didn't really know what to expect with this one, though I was really looking forward to it. It was really good; an account of the life of young Jesus told in the first person (I'm sure the list of writers who could possibly pull this off is very short - Anne Rice did an extremely good job); very well-done and a very plausible story. Anyone who is considering reading it and might possibly be worrying about the content shouldn't fear...
  • Darksaber (Kevin J Anderson) - another re-read from the pile
  • Ordinary Heroes (Scott Turow) - this was really good! A really good and believable story...
  • Imajica (Clive Barker) - This was good. Though I had read it before, it had been a while, so it was like reading it for the first time. It was probably as long as Bram Stoker's Dracula (600+ pages in paperback)...
  • The Earth Lords (Gordon R Dickson) - re-read...
  • A Case of Need (Michael Crichton - writing as Jeremy Hudson) - another re-read...
  • Terminal Man (Michael Crichton) - another re-read; haven't seen anything new that sounds interesting...
  • Belinda (Anne Rice - writing as Anne Rampling) - I've read this a couple of times already, recently decided to read it again; this is one of Anne Rice's racier and more controversial novels, but it is really good - basically: 16 year-old girl, 44 year-old man...
  • The Laws of Our Fathers (Scott Turow) - finally finished this; it had a lot of characters to keep up with, so it took me a while to plow through and keep it all straight. It was pretty good...
  • Maximum Ride (James Patterson) - this sounded interesting; once I started on it I was kinda disappointed (it read more like a kid's book); it was still alright...
  • The King of Torts (John Grisham) - I'm on a John Grisham run lately...
  • The Summons (John Grisham)
  • State of Fear (Michael Crichton)
  • Pleading Guilty (Scott Turow)
  • Rich Dad - Poor Dad (Robert T Kiwosaki) - I got this book as a Christmas gift from my cousin a couple of years ago. I would urge anyone who is not extremely comfortable with their financial situation to read it - and keep it close by and re-read it once in a while...
  • The Broker (John Grisham) - I'd forgotten how much I used to enjoy John Grisham's writing, so I decided to give it another try...
  • A Painted House (John Grisham) - this was really good. I haven't read anything by John Grisham in a while (all those lawyer stories got old), and I really enjoyed this story. Nothing fancy, just a good old-fashioned story...
  • Angels & Demons (Dan Brown)
  • Deception Point (Dan Brown)
  • Brain Child (George Turner)
  • If the Stars Are Gods (Gregory Benford and Gordon Eklund)
  • Orion In the Dying Time (Ben Bova)
  • Vengeance of Orion (Ben Bova)
  • Orion and the Conqueror (Ben Bova)
  • Digital Fortress (Dan Brown)
  • Orion Among the Stars (Ben Bova)
  • Prey (Michael Crichton) - this was awfully good, kinda a modernized Andromeda Strain (it'll probably be made into a movie which if done right should be quite good)
  • Orion (Ben Bova)
  • The DaVinci Code (Dan Brown) - finally found it in paperback (go eBay!)...
  • Star Wars - Attack of the Clones (R A Salvatore)
  • The Codex (Douglas Preston) - this was pretty good - as advertised on the cover, it was a "blend of Raiders of the Lost Ark along with The Amazing Race"...
  • The Rainmaker (John Grisham) - just finished reading this for a second time (I thought that I hadn't read it yet, but after reading it again I could remember it - I do that sometimes)...
  • Holy Blood/Holy Grail (Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh, and Henry Lincoln) - picked this up to read while waiting on The DaVinci Code to come out in paperback; as I understand it, it's kinda related. It was really interesting; I think this is a re-release that was originally published in the early '80's...
