This is more of a recent interest of mine, but it looks like it's gonna
continue to keep me occupied for a while. I'll try to post any interesting news
I might discover about my family history...
Recent Discoveries
- A while back I decided to create a surname group for the Summerlins on the
Ancestry dna site. I believe this link will get you there:
Summerlins of South Georgia
- It seems I'm starting to get a fair amount of family researchers contacting me
with/about information about my family history research. This is really nice for
me; it seems I've got a lot of "cousins" out there!...
- I've discovered some interesting relationships within my family tree. Probably
the most exciting to me is an (apparent) relationship between my 4th
Great-Grandmother on my father's side and my 3rd Great-Grandmother on my
mother's side - it looks like they were sisters! Now, think about this for a
minute: there's my Dad's paternal line (the Summerlins way back) and my
mother's paternal line (the Newberns way back), that's 5-6 generations of
ancestors ago, who married sisters! It also appears that these families may have
been neighbors. I wonder what these people would think if they could know that
their grandchildren would one day be married?
Explore my family history - my Genealogy.com home page - a work in
progress - (click the "tree"
links at the bottom of the page to see family trees...)
See my family tree - a "pdf"
version of my family tree (it's kinda large, so you might have to "zoom in" in
your Adobe Reader)...
